A short biography

Marc Antieb was born in Hannover and lives on the edge of Cologne in Bergisch Gladbach. A formative meeting with the Arts was, without doubt, the installation of the Nanas form Niki de Saint-Phalle in Hannover, which, at that time, could be seen as a significant provocation of the bourgeoisie.

A resistance to fixed cultural norms, his individualism, and an abundance of colors and forms are both a stimulation and a constant inspiration for his work. After many years working as an engineer, Marc Antieb was drawn, almost irresistibly, back to painting and today he uses materials like canvas, wood and textiles, which he brings together in ever new combinations. Antique handwork and textile lace come together in an interplay of acryl painting and spray techniques which transform the whole into novel and highly individual concepts of form and colour.

Whilst his home remains with his partner in Bergisch Gladbach, he lives and works part of the year in the Cote dÀzur and in the Rhineland-Palatinate.
